no put the screen so that your top growth is about 2" above the screen and start tying the top growth down to the screen. you should start scrog in veg and flower when you think the stretch will fill up the rest of the screen.

i set my screen at 13 inches from the top of the pots. Always works for me. I take it ur running a predominately sativa ak since ur scroging. otherwise id just run a lolly pop srcog where heights wouldnt get too big anyways for 14" aks would matter. no where near too tall to scrog unless u have too many plants in ur area how many? are they lanky sativas some sativas dont stretch too much after being flipped 2 12-12.

bend it over and lower your screen down onto it, and you have a head start.
