I have some clones flowering in my space and they are 100%sativa. Their flowering time on Nirvana's website says they flower from 10-12 weeks. So I have read on rollitup that some people think flowering starts when you go 12/12. Well I don't think that is the case at all. My clones have been "flowering" for 4 weeks under a 400 watt HPS. I just saw yesterday that the first female hairs showed up.

So I am looking for a debate here will it be 8 weeks for them to get done or will it be 10-12 weeks

Hard telling. What strain you growing? If you see the female pre-flowers "white hairs" that's when i start counting the days.

Yes, the flowering time Days start when you switch to 12/12.

And there is no need for debate. If it is a 100% sativa, the flowering time will be at least 12 weeks, probably 14-15.

If that is the case, then your plants are right on schedule. Using the 40/60 Theory, when the plants stop stretching, you are 40 percent of the way through flowering. The other 60 percent is flower formation, and flower ripening.

Yeah man... It take a 12 dark period for about 2 weeks in order to initiate the "Flowering" stages of any strain. Unless, of course you have an "auto-flowering" strain. And I don't think thats the case since you cant really clone auto flowering plants. I believe you have the amount of time it takes to harvest which is 10/12 weeks, confused with the amount of light it takes to flower any cannabis strain 12/12 which means 12hrs of dark and 12hrs of light.
