Doing the LST thing and doing it right (Banana Kush)

Growing some Banana kush from my last harvest clones. So far they have been great to me. Not till recently when i had to leave for the weekend and leave it up to someone else to water my plants with nutrients. Sure enough i come home to find them with fried tips : (. Bummer but i'll live, could have been worst. Anyways just showing you my LST update. I am just over 3 weeks into flowering and this is what they look like so far. Using nutrients (ask if you would like to know). Would love any feedback in regards to suggestions, comments, questions, feedback, and review. I will try to get back to everyone that post to but.

Just sharing. Hope everyone else is having success!

whats up strainmaster. i like the lst you have going on..... its very very beautiful. im doing the same thing but on a smaller scale. I would be lying to you if i said that i was growing it in a i gallon pot. i think its smaller than one gallon. but yet i managaed to pull 13 colas off of one (LSD barney farm) and about 15 from the other one (northernskunk peakseedsbc)
i noticed a few tips that are burnt but nothing major where you should be worried about. Its a very beautiful plant.
i have a question though. Are you using the block ir in your grow room for reflection or just simply blocking infra red?

Hey BestBud. Thank you for the compliments about my baby girls. They have taken off and are really starting to develop now! (I will post pictures today sometime). LST has got me really excited and i am really looking forward to experimenting with it.
As for your question about the reflection sheeting that runs the bottom half of the room. It's there for a couple different reasons. One being that it is reflective and seems to work much better then just a flat blue surface (and easy to work with). Second it helps keep heat in a little better around the plants (acting almost as a blanket to the blue sheeting) and three would have to be just for the light. Its nice to be able to open the garage without a glowing blue box shining out into the open haha.
All in all it's nice to have but you really don't need to have it (It works for me). I treat my girls as well as i can so they will do the same to me in return.
Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for the invite mcpurple! I will most definitely pop in to share later this afternoon with an update.
Yes it is a tomato plant. It was only brought inside to experiment a little bit. Speaking of having other plants growing around my marijuana... do you know anything that grows well next to the herb while flowering? maybe a plant that produces CO2?

no i dont know of any plants that are beneficial to MJ while growing except mabye outdoors where certain flower can be used to detour bugs and keep some away.

Do you know any good tricks to get rid of spider mites? I seem to be having a little bit of a problem with them since they were clones from the dispensary. I tried 1500 lady bugs when they were younger but it doesn't seem like they did their job. I have been lowing them down but need a good way to clear them out once and for all. Thanks for the help.

i use neem oil and lady bugs and it works great for me, if infested real bad you can smash the bugs with your fingers and then just give a good spray of neem and after it dries i release about 40-50 ladies. and i spray with neem every day for about 3-4 days, and then i always keep about 20-30 ladies in theri at all times, the ladies wont beable to do it all on theri own they work best as a preventor but helps alot with neem.

Hey strain listen i understand about the heat part. but as far as reflection goes i dont think youll get much from it since its main purpose is to reflect infrared light away. Heres a tip bro if you want more reflection at a very very very cheap price and its the same thing (mylar) that you can get from a hydro shop. Its called emergency mylar blanket. I just received mines yesterday (monday). Its 52" by 82" and they come in a small pack. I bought a four pack and the total came out to be $5 and some change thats including shipping and handling. Its the exact same thing as the rolls they have at hydro shops but in a smaller size. Just go to ebay and they have reputable sellers. just make sure you look at the prices and make sure you read how many come in. In my case i only had to use one blanket and i still have half of that blanket left over with three more packs that are full. Ive come to realize that hydro shops sell their shit at a very expensive price, now a days i try to order everything online and the funny thing about it is that after shipping and handling it still is cheaper than going to the hydro shop. i dont fuck with them much unless i run out of something or i need something at that moment. Try it my friend and youll will see the big difference in light reflection. What you could do is just put the mylar over the block ir and it will be just fine, thats how i had one of my previous grow rooms set up.

Yeah strain if you are having spider mite problems, that neem oil will work perfectly. ive used it a few times and its the only stuff i use since its pretty much safer than chemicals. If you read on neem oil you should know that it comes from a tree in africa which makes it safer to play with than the ones that are chemically based. Just make sure that when you spray it its a very fine mist and also make sure that you dont put the lights right on top of the plants since the heat of the light could cause your leaves to burn from the water spots on the leaves.. in other words make sure that whatever you sprayed on the leaves evaporate before putting the lights right on top of the plants. that neem oil is very good stuff and you could just get it from your local homedepot store rather than a hydro shop. when you have it inside the container which you will be using make sure you shake it constantly to avoid a build up in the mix..... it will take care of all the infestation problems youll ever get on your girls.
i hope this helps you out bro, take care of the girls....

when i did spray it i only did it for exactly a week no more, sometimes less. but everytime it would take care of the problem so quick....

ya alot of epoel use the blamkets, but i found pand black film is much cheaper, thicker, just as reflective and easier to hang. i get about 10x10 for 50 centsa foot

Thank you for the advice best bud. I have came to the conclusion myself that hydroponic stores are one of the biggest scams out there (unless you are completely clueless). Every product is over price other then a few things here and there that i don't mind buying.. oasis cubes, lava rock, pot, ect.

I like the price of the reflecting material you suggested and am a avid ebay user so this fits right into my type of work. I have posted and an update version of the plants last night (if you are interested in seeing them now). I dropped the light a little and it is started to really help the buds fill out and grow a little bigger. I will keep you posted throughout the process and thanks again for your advice.
