I think i'm on the same page as well. That dimmable(i've reduced it to 250 for now) 400watter i'm using now is flowering a very decent sized plant.Bushy cause i went crazy on it and tried almot everything on it(lst,topping,fiming-wish i knew more back then-) .I really can't afford to mispurchase, and i'm pretty worried for the 600's heat production. It's a nice room that does not get much sun in summer, probably the coldest place in my house (during summer),but i haven't tried it yet,so i'm cautious, asking and reading..400watts would do it but will i have the coverage i need ? I'm in a tent actually, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SECRET-JARDIN-DR300W-REV2-5-300cm-x-150cm-x-200cm-GROW-TENT-/291066726454
smaller than this one but with the same reflective features.I'm worried about my coverage,so i'm thinkng the pros and cons for my lights :D

There are so many other things to worry about. :) This is not one of them. You must really sweat, starting roots, without overwatering and underfeeding.

After that they grow very fast, with only 250w clf. My thing has always been trying too much. I had 12 in bloom and lost them all to root rot in DWC.

Now I have only 2 plants at each of 4 grow stations. And that is almost too much. But, getting 7 or 8 weeks or veg on them makes all the difference in yield.
Cannabis will bloom straight from clones or seeds without ever changing the light.

I'm very cautious on overwatering and underfeed.I'm keeping it moist ,not overwatered.DWC is not that forgivable as soil..heh :D.Higher veg times is a huge difference as well..!! I'm thinking 6-8 plants - i'll start with 6 - , 2 strains at most. The plant number might decrease if i have more males or increase if i'm lucky.I'll find my tweaks in the way of growing, but i need a solid set up to do so ;).Still can't decide on which one i should go for..:D

You didn't know that? Yeah. Veg is for yield only. A clone is quite happy to produce a palm length cola in 8 weeks. And it is good stuff, but not much of it.

So, to dial in my System, (which is Me operating my Rig, with my Process), I tried those combos. !2 clones every 8 weeks should be plenty, right? But, not if your system is single point failure and you lose it all to root rot, as I did. Also you will find it is pretty expensive to do it that way.

A clone costs, about 1.5kwh for me to bloom it for 8 weeks. If I Veg for 8 weeks under the much cheaper, 250w CFL, I get a 30" plant that will yield the same as those 12 clones, so I have 2 at a time, with 2 more a month behind, etc, only 8 going at once, instead of 12.

And that gives me double the production of 12 clones, but every single month. So, that is a 4x improvement in yield with just technique and only 250 extra watts.

Simply put, a 25% increase in watts with some Veg technique gives a 400% increase in yield.

I never have understood why some folks go straight to 12/12. Isn't long before they find out what they've been missing. All plants need to go thru a natural cycle, from embryo to juvenile to adult stage.

Yes, and yet in the case of clones, they are technically the same age as the Mom. That is only reason you get mature flowers in 8 weeks, probably.

So, I suppose you can raise seedlings with 12x12 from the start, but I have never tried it. At $10 a seed and 50/50 males, I have not cracked my seeds yet.

And at that cost I will be going for yield.

UB could you elaborate a little more?

Ah I thought you meant that they would start to flower if you left them on veg times andnever flipped the lights. THAT I wouldnt have known hahaha

Wait, don't forget about auto-flower strains. They just bloom after a while. You don't change the light.

My friend, as UB's Lab Assistant (self appointed), here in Botany Lab, may I assist you? That seems so self evident to me, I really wonder what your question is?

There is nothing to elaborate on. All organisms go thru, all that.

So, what is the part you are fuzzy about? It was just a pat on the head for I had just said.

It means don't go backwards against nature. That is how I meant it and how he took it.

I have done a lot of experiments. UB, said that is good. Allow nature. That is all. Don't mess with the light period at the most important point. The plant is attempting to mature it's THC those last few weeks.

Why mess with that?

NEVER! Autos are awesome. I just thought he meant that they would eventually just bloom (regular seeds from regular plants) in a few years even if vegged.

OH, Buck do you have an advanced thread of any kind? I'd "hang out" there some, for you.
