I have been growing for a while now but not nearly considered a pro i want to take it to the next level where my top nugs are 7 grams plus. Here is my process... I start my clones in rock wool then when i see roots i transplant them to a 16oz cup after they grow to good size i transplant to a 1 gal pot and then to a 5 gal pot i use a T5 light for veg and a thousand watt hps for flowering i have air constantly moving across the rooms i use nutrients and co2 and the temps are perfect where do i start to make improvements any thing helps

Quite honestly if with a 1000 Watt HPS isn't giving you 7 gram or higher cola's, it's your strain, or (not to be rude) you suck at growing.

Most likely your strain is a weak yielder, but if you want a fatty cola, lollipop your plant and only grow the cola.

Also, make sure you are using the right nutes for flower (which if you have a 1000 watter, you probably aren't skimping on nutes)

So yeah, it's your strain, i've decided.

i should clear that up i get 7 grams plus on the top nugs/ main steam, but its not that one solid piece i'm looking for, there is steam showing through i probably get an eighth solid nug at the very top

Are you getting one top or have you tried Uncle Ben's 2 or 4 topping?

That is another way, also during veg time I will twist and snap the inner node of the stem to break it, once it heals the stem gets fatter and the idea is it provides more juices to the plant giving you fatter nuggs since you have bigger stem, you can do the a couple times during vegging

I do do the fimming process but i like that idea of snapping the steam

you should get 7 grams off a good side limb. Your top cola with most medium to high yeilding strains should weigh AT LEAST 1/2 oz dry If you're doing everything right, and you let them veg for a month to 6 weeks. All that transplanting you're doing is kinda pointless IMO. Why not just put the put the clone in the 5 gal. pot after it has good roots? Even the 1 to 5 gal. is fine. If you have the space already, put them in the pot you're going to finish in. You're just risking shock for no reason. What are your temps at if you're running CO2? How long are you vegging your plants for before you force flowering?

Ok you could improve by A : using a metal halide for vegging if you can. CFL's are good too because they seem to give my plants tighter distance between nodes with makes for a more compact plant which = more bud in less space. Maximize your yeild for your space.

B: Don't transplant as much, there really isn't any need for it unless your area isn't set up, and you currently don't have the space, or have the space dedicated to something else.

C: If you're using CO2, it's more effective with higher temps, (mid 80's to low mid 90's) Your area needs to be sealed as good as you can possibly get it.

D: Get a good strain if you don't already have one. It helps.

It works look into it, but basically

Hold the stem with both hands, one hand holding the lower part of the stem in place then you twist the stem back and with your upper hand twist the stem back & forth between your thumb and index finger like rolling a joint. Do this until you feel it snap, let it heal for a week or so and repeat

You can do this a couple times during vegging, I am sure if you search other folks are doing it

You have to wait for 4 or 5 nodes and you can break it in a few places if it is tall enough
