I also attend a horticulture trade school, and i have been a state lic. landscape contractor working with plants for the last 14 years..... so i think i know a little about plants and nutrients... especially these plants.
Sounds like we have something in common.

Doesn't mean it isn't good tasting bud either. I have many brands of plant foods, it's their analysis, purity and value that count, not some half naked chick on a website designed to attract kids with dreams because their products don't measure up in the real world of botany and they need all the ad crutches they can muster up. I buy 25 lb. bags of the highest quality salts, super soluble plant food, for $19 delivered that will run circles around the crap and hype that AN sells, at a fraction of the cost.

those cheap nutes are usually high in urea based nitrogen which is almost impossible to leach from the plant before harvest...... urea taste like piss.... thats just my first complaint... but if you like it then rock it bro!
Urea tastes like what? lol Urea, a safe source of N, is converted into salts before uptake by microbial activity or ion exchanges within the plant cells. That's about as lame as the unfounded mantra that chlorophyll tastes like crap. Folks don't have a clue what happens to either when processed under certain conditions. Nothing more than feelings, not facts. Know the difference.

if you think a plant cannot benefit from anything but the NPK and secondary nutrients then you are simply wrong.
In the end, it's the salts that matter.

I've personally used both foxfarm and AN. I used the whole foxfarm line including the synthetics open sesame, beastie bloomz, and cha ching. IMO they work fine especially for beginning growers. After about a year I've moved on to AN sensi blooom, big bud, b-52,voodoo juice and have to say its way better than foxfarm. Its a lot pricier but definatly worth it. Invest the money into ur crop and it will pay itself when you harvest. If ur strapped on cash go with foxfarm. I've pulled 1.7 lbs a light before off of foxfarms line.

Also, it has always boggled my mind as to why advanced nutrients nutrient challenge never included fox farms.. any thoughts on this?

Yea that's all I'm using fron AN. I'm growing auto strain so don't rally use any grow nutes. I use only superthrive during vegging. Also I'm gonna use molasses for the first time this crop during flower. IMO I think foxfarm wasn't included in the nutrient challenge cause all those other brands are more expensive and more for advanced growers. Just my opinion though.

are you in soil or hydro? i was looking into advanced, and i have been in search the best lineup from advanced for soil.. so far i have done fox farms, dutch master gold, and humbolt and gotten best results with fox farms...

i would really love to see a third party company do an actual scientific double blind study on all of the major nutrient companies with marijuana, just to finally bring peace to the arguing and provide actual scientific results... the challenge advanced did seems to biased based on the fact that they did it themselves and their video seemed more persuasive/promotional than anything.. i mean, im sure advanced nutrients work great but i just have a hard time believing they are the answer to my prayers ya know?

You should. Based on a quick look at your journal, you've got some serious leaf chlorosis and yellowing. A food with a higher amount of N would fix it. Problem is, most of the food vendors you're using do not understand the function of N as reflected by the makeup of their products, or don't care.

You're wasting your time and money. It will have no beneficial effect during veg. Superthrive for starts can and will work against you, it is a synthetic hormone and Vitamin B1 that is meant to induce root cell division and elongation. It should be used only as a root drench at no more than 10 drops per gallon.

Advanced growers do not use cannabis specific foods like AN. They understand the function of the 16 essential elements. They buy high quality foods, not glamorized snake oils. If it sounds too good to be true, watch out.
