whoops... trial and error, I'll just be glad I didn't pay a much bigger price for my mistake. Next on my list is food dye, I'll try that in moderation.

The only problem you might experience with the food dye is its effect on the nutrient pH as most food dyes are now all man made not natural plant based etc. so the pH could be about anywhere on the scale.

this is the deal... rite after you cut, put it in a cup of food coloroing and let it sit for 24 hours... roots disapate the dye before it even gets to the plant... so there is no reason to put it in your res nor add it to your watering (for soil growers)... it will make your plant taste harsh... i read a thread about it on icmag i believe.. the dude said his weed tasted like shit after.. the only thing i am not sure of is if you leave the lights on or off for the 24 hours... try it with some celery first and see what works best... hopes this helps...

To make them turn gold, AKA Acapulco gold the trick used by the columbian farmers was to girdle the stem,
this involved making cuts that were 1/8" deep 360 degrees around the stem and then again 1/4" above/below the first cut. Then carefully dig out the veg between the cuts to 1/8" deep, allow to heal and walla Gold Bud

If your your about to harvest, add methylene blue to your nutrients to get blue buds. Available at tropical fish stores. It is uses for various medical reasons and is injected. It is used for labortaory use for a dye in slide staining. It is used for aquarium use to kill fungus infections.

lowering grow room temps will usually change the plant/buds to a PURPLE color as it will also do if temps outside are
cold enough. indoor growers sometimes water with ice water to achieve this purple coloring effect.

yeah, they cold water helped to turn my leaves and trim purple, but my bud stayed brite green... i
