I have a quick question for the seasoned pro.
Indoor grow. Soil = FF OF w/ 10% Perlite. Want to start clones in 2gal pots and then transfer them to 5 gal pots before they enter the flowering chamber. If I do this I am getting an infusion of nutes from the new soil. How does this affect the FF feeding schedule? Is it better to start them in 5 gal pots and not transplant? Any Help would be appreciated. Thanks |

I put my clones in a 50/50 mix of FF OF & FF LW in lil 4" pots. Then transplant to 3 gal. for the veg. & flower cycles. If you can keep the humidity high enough (95%-100% recommended) you can do it. But I find that it takes long to get clones rooted and growing when using soil. Longer than I like to wait. I am in the process of making a bubble cloner.
I am going with sure to grow 2" round media, they can be transplanted right into soil or any other media. I would make a thread about it but it isn't anything new. But back to your question IMHO I would use lil 4" pots, a prop tray and a dome seems to be the best way to go when cloning with soil. Plus you can do more clones and take your pick of the best ones to move forward with. Those big pots take up alot of space which means you can only do so many, and you have to hope they all root for you. When we all know not all clones root equally. Good Luck ![]()
