That was an excellent piece on the Molasses info, I work at a Beet Sugar factory and i liked the proper references being used, but would like to mention that beet sugar diluted at about a half amount of the molasses would do the same thing without bringing several or the chemical impurities into your "soil" that mollasses would

I like to dip biscuits in molasses.

I've used black strap on half of my soil grows (same genetics) and never noticed any difference in taste, aroma, weight, etc. Of course, if you are providing what your plant needs nutritionally, extra additives add little or nothing to the finished product. I'm now exclusively hydro, so molasses is very taboo.

Having said all that, I never had a negative experience using molasses. Your milage may vary. Personally, I never saw a real benefit.

Be sure to check the ph of the water after you add the molasses. ive been averaging a 6.5 ph with straight distilled, and it dropped to 6.0 after adding 1 tsp. to the gallon. leaves still look good but i might go with a 1/2 tsp. next time.

I am using sweet grape for my first ebb n flow grow. It was a bit more expensive but I with it because it was a nice pure liquid so I wouldn't have to worry about any mess or pump getting getting jammed. After reading about the sweet grape it seems like it has same benefits as molasses plus more.

I will let you know how the SWEET GRAPE does for my grow.
