Default light hours
I have read recently that it is possible to give a flowering plant blue light only (led) during the flower (darkness period) and this blue light will not interrupt the flowering cycle (infomation from softsecrets mag .. Ed Rosenthal

i also read that it is also possible to put some india strains into flower, with less than 12 hours of darkness, i myself have induced flower with only a 10 hour dark period, i have now read that with the aid of far red spectrum light during the regular sodium period, this extra red light, can pull the critical darkness requirement down to only 8 hours

putting these 2 concepts together, it could be possible to have plants both in flower and in veg in the same space ??

as the plants in veg could be given (blue directional led) after 8 hurs to keep them in a veg state, the plants in flower could be given far red to force them to flower with only 8 hours of darkness and the blue leds keeping the veg plants in veg after 8hurs of metal halide would not disrupt the flower peroid of the flowering plants

any thoughts ?

Green light will not interupt the cycle. Never heard this with blue light. Sounds like a new experiment to me.

Thus the reason it won't interupt the flower cycle.

But I do not think that is what he is trying to do. He i trying to flower some plants with a certain spectrum of light while the others veg.

But if you are low on space and still want to do that, just use a green see through plastic paper in the middle of the wall

Make sure no light but green gets into flower side

This was more me thinking of possible ways to overcome the problem of having to have veg and flower areas under different lighting hours that could cause disruption to flower cycles .. i am aware you could always section the plants off from each other in the same space, although that was not the point of what i was thinking, it would be nice to be able to have veg and flowering plants alltogether without the need for screens blocking light etc etc .. i am also interested in expermenting with photoperiods and leds .. in the article i read the aim of the blue light during flower was for the purpose of gaining extra growth, without upsetting the flower period also it was said that being able to bring the critical dark period to only 8hrs, with the use of far red leds, to allow plants to flower with only 8 hours of darkness could lead to extra growth , all totaly new ideas to me, i am sorry i cant find the exact article i read so many, but it came from http://www.softsecrets.nl/ and the sorce was Ed Rosenthal
