Ok let me try to explain this alittle better. I've read in multiple places that if a clone is stressed enough it will turn hermie having both male and female traits. I would think that the male would pollenate the female flowers generating same strain seeds. I was woundering if this was possible how do we have clone only strains like sour diesel?

I think what he's asking is... Why do some strains not produce seeds when forced to hermie?

I don't know, but how do you know it's a hermie if it doesn't produce seed?

yes a plant/clone can get stress and turn hermie which will produce seeds if left to pollenate its self but i dont understand the "clone only strain like sour deisle part"

some original strains, like sour diesel, trainwreck, chemdogg are strains where clones are the only way to get the true genetics. Hes saying that if you could hermi the plant then you could get seeds for a strain where cloning is the only way to get the plant. and the answer is yes you can, but, sometimes the seeds from a hermi will hermi by themselves and have weaker genetics but it is possible.

Listen bro its this simple, the clone only strains you hear about are really just a super potent bad ass phenotype from seed. Out of hundred or thousands of seeds there might be a very special phenotype that is far better than the rest of the other seeds that were planted. This phenotype is then cloned over and over again and spread around to different growers. This bad ass bud is given a name, like sour diesel. You could force the plant to turn hermie and then pollinate another clone and make seeds, but these seeds will not be exactly like the mother, you might be able to grow out hundreds of those seeds and find a similar phenotype but never the exact same phenotype. You will never get the exact same bud. Thats why they call them "clone only strains"
