Regeneration and Increased Potency/Flavor

from all the people i know who have done this... their harvest is slightly less and potency goes down... as far as flavor goes i dont know... i personally am not a big fan of regen... i would rather start all over again due to the fact that it can take up to six weeks for the plant to revert back to vegetative growth and start growing new greenery... Personally the only way i would regen is if i had a starin that was extremely hard to get and the chances of getting it again are slim to none.. otherwise your better off starting a new and using the six weeks to germ and start vegging... IF u dont beleive me then read jorge cervantes book in my sig... he is one of the best growers there is...
jorge is just an actor hired by high times...he is reading script...that hat he wears with his fake dreads is soo gay.

Hell yeah...He's just a homer. Ever read some of the bullshit he spouts in High Times? There are people on this forum that are much better growers than Jorge...just MHO.

lol his vids were funny and for noobies it does help to watch but any person with any sense will see his just and actor and really doesn't know shit. Though its a grat watch and i love some of the gardens they visit.

Back on track i hope ya share all you can with your reveg's man as i would love to try it myself. I would like to know how you compare reveg and starting from clones in terms of turn around time, is it faster or not? I've read a fw threads on it and some people say is more hassel then its worth and others swear by it.

I don't know about the guy personally, but cervantes book is first rate. Especially when coupled with the info here at RIU.:peace:
His book may be first rate, he didnt write all that crap himself though. He has tons of parenthetical references and I am pretty sure ED and a couple other people did the hard research.
His videos are not useless, I dont want to say that. It is very cool seeing some of the grow ops first hand, and he does lay some good guidelines. The vids I agree are for first time growers, not for anyone who has had one or more harvests.

I have what we have coined as "pineapple express" not sure what the actual strain is, I found a seed in a bag of fire, and we are now on our Regen! It tastes like pineapple though, very very fruity and citrusy.

The buds are plump and nice, ridiculous trichomes gallore. I will post pics later this week. We are close to harvesting. I would say the yield is the same as first generation. Once the plant is in vegetative state you can grow as big and bushy as you want before blooming. I dont see how less yield is an argument against the process.

In my experience it has only taken a week or so to get it sprouting new leaves. and with the already hearty rootstock, it has taken off much faster than a 1st generation after that. I would say that the time and yield arguments are null.

I will be attempting a 3rd regen on this momma after we cut her down next week, then clone her. I will make a picture diary of the process and what it looks like/ yields/ etc.

Til then, roll them phat and wide and stay ignorantly blissful. Cheers.

I've had stumps regen accidentally that were tossed off to the side of the room waiting to be thrown away.
Barely a twig of green left on them.

I've also had other strains that just took freaking forever to get back to normal fast veg growth and seem to linger forever giving that squirly in between scraggly stuff.

I guess all I'm saying it's very strain dependant, ymmv, but I think it's always worth a try. I did get some amazing bud off them. Can't say for sure it was better but damn, killer shit growing free from rootballs you threw away is such a treat.

Ok. Here are a few pics of the regen. This is the 2nd harvesting. We are still a week or so on the beauties, as you can tell by the hairs, but she is phattening up quite nicely. Notice the gigantic stump/hole in middle where the grandmomma cola was...
After we harvest next week, we are going to regen a third time, clone, etc. and I will take pics along the way... Enjoy.
And for the record I am going to try and regenerate this one as many times as I can....
