Hello everyone got a nice advanced question for you guys i hope you can help cause i need to get this up and running in the next few days.
Ok here is my problem I have 3 x 200 liter reservoirs 1 has the RO pump hooked up and is used as the clean RO water tank its always filtering water. The other 2 are next to the grow rooms. these 2 tanks. I mix my nutes in these 2 reservoirs. I also pump the RO water from tank one to these 2 manually. Now i am looking at automating the toping off process of the 2 feeding tanks. So for instance as soon as the feeding reservoirs are at 50% a pump is turned un pumping from Tank 1 with the RO water to the feeding tank and as soon as its at full level the pump is turned off avoiding a major spill. I appreciate all your help. I have been looking at the controll buckets for the multiflow systems but have had no luck finding any in EU. If there are special pumps with level sensors that turns then on/off please post a link. Any help is appreciated and good help gets you rep points. thanks again happy smoking. Why don't you just use an eb and flow float and switch to setup the res.? I would think that would suffice. You would use the float in the growing res and then when the float goes too low the switch kicks in and turns the water pump on to deliver more water into the grow res...

thanks ill check that out now, i was also looking at float valves like this one
http://www.discount-hydro.com/produc...d=554&navid=55 now with a float valve i connect a small pump to it and leave it on at all times and as soon as the res hits a certain low level like 50% of the tank then it opens the valve and water pours in. Now when the valve is closed and the pump is on does the pump eventually die out? or is it ok for the pump to be on with the valve closed? Let me know if you think this will work In tank 1 with the RO water i will place 2 drainage plugs relatively low in the tank connect those to the 2 feeding tanks in the feeding tanks i have a float valve at the appropriate level so that as soon as it drops the valve opens and tops it off. This way i wouldn't even need any electric pumps i would just use gravity to do the job. Quote:

Yes I was thinking the same thing about the gravity fed idea. what kind of setup are you using? I have made a mixture or aero and dwc... I used a 30 gallon rubbermaid and cut 10 holes for 3inch net pots, installed a homeade sprayer with 16 nozzles adn about 6 air stones and a long air bubbler. I am still waiting to use it though as I just cloned mine last night... But the resivoir idea is bomb, I will add another 30 gallon for the top off

Yes the gravity feed for your res. will work fine and you won't have to fuss with any electrical. Just make sure the valve bodies are made of brass. And your RO res is at higher elevation than your feeding res. I am a Licensed Journeyman Plumber, and can vouch for this setup. You can bend the rod holding the float to suit your needs. When you get it going you will see what I mean. Also you should be able to purchase these valves at your local hardware store. Ask them for replacement parts for a swamp cooler. That should do ya mate. Good Luck.

Coming from a "journeyman plumber" ... i would expect a little more than that. there is nothing a brass valve will do that a pvc valve can't you probably dont even have your backflow certification experience doesnt make you expert |

im sure you are trying to describe an evaporative cooler which use the humidity in the air to cool a given space ... which has no validity here ... take your expertise elsewhere and stop intentionally misinforming Last edited by jwop; 07-19-2009 at 10:54 PM.. |

jwop,
I was trying to help this guy out in the simplest possible manner. PVC would work fine, except finding a float valve in 3/8 PVC is next to impossible. I am a licensed commercial plumber in the state of Colorado. Backflow certification? I install reduced pressure backflow preventers, not inspect them. That would be a conflict of interest. I don't understand why you feel the need to post on this thread when you are not trying to help the guy out, only trying to talk shit about me. What was the point really? If you are ever in Denver hit me up if you are man enough to say that shit to my face. Or you can realize how immature that was and we can all forget about it.
