How would you keep light temperatures down with vertical lighting.

Here's my last grow AK47 and PPP in hempy journal

What kind of reflector is it mounted under, and what is the bulb diameter??

vert lights dont have reflectors, thats the point

i suggest putting the vert light in a vert cooltube with one open end and one end attached to a big fan

just remove that crappy tin foil reflector thingy that comes with the cooltube.

Some are.. It could be in a high-bay, or one of those umbrella looking reflectors.. Clarification before suggesting plans would be good..

I dont want to use cool tubes. If I have a fan per light blowing right on it do you think it would keep temps down?

and how would you keep temps up at night?

how about other glass tubes attached to a vent and fan?
failing that, put the fans BELOW the lights blowing up to encourage the heat to go up instead of across
and still have good air movement / extraction

It all depends on what size room they are in too. If your doing verticle, I take it that you are using an entire room?

I've seen a vertical grow where the guy just put a fan underneath the bulbs. The fan was just laid down on top of a bucket and blew air at the bulb. Then he had exhaust fans that took the heat out.

Really, you can't. The heat given off by HIDs is radiant heat which means those galss tubes are useless. Just keep the air moving and keep them a safe distance from your plants.
