I need to start producing some seeds but I only have females. I was thinking of changing one of my clones to a male by spraying her with GA3 (gibberellic acid) at a high PPM. Then breeding the new male with another clone from same mother. Anyone ever do this?

Why don't you just hermie one of the clones? Wouldn't that be easier?

But to answer your question, i've never heard of changing the sex of a plant like that.

A friend bought some fem'd blueberry and some of this and made his own hermies and has been growing blueberry for like 2 years now from the seeds he got off the hermies. And none of the seeds he has has ever turned herm...I like to fuck with different seed co.'s or at least a different strain everytime I grow so I don't mess with it but the shit works.

Well I was gonna go the herm route but then that would be easier and for some reason I, like alot of us growers, tend to go the harder route. But really I just like screwing around and trying new stuff. But I did read up on GA3 and they say if you use to much it can change your plant as a side effect. If used right it will just make your plant explode with growth...unfortunetly the growth will be in the form of stretching. But I just ordered some silver nitrate about 5 minutes ago. I tried ordering some about a month ago but the place I placed the order at wanted me to fill out a DEA form. But I did get the sodium thiosulfate with no problems. So I guess Ill just make some fem seeds, but Im also still gonn try the sex change just for the fun of it.

how do you make your plant a hemie???

It can be caused usually by stress.

Applying GA to a female plant will put bananas on your female plant...Much like a hermie...I've yet to see or hear of any1 taking a female cutting and turning the entire plant to a male....Not to say its not possible...Maybe if U (spray) before U SEX or 12/12........
....1 can also stress a plant using light to hermie (I have read never experienced).....From what I have learned the likleyhood of having offspring that herm is greatest if the plant you apply the GA to pollinates itself. Any time U Herm a plant with chemicals or otherwise the posibility of having Hermed offspring is possible IMO......But I say go for it RO....1ONE1
