Kinda off subject but I know they have produced a tobacco plant that glows, it was actually due to firefly genetics!? What we need is to keep the smell, change the shape and color, and alter the THC juuuust enough to not show on a piss test!

THC isn't actually tested for.. A THC metabolite: 11-nor-9-Carboxy-THC is the bastard the tests hunt out.. Gotta love the wiki..

Parts of it match THC, others don't.. Kind of like how parts of acetic acid match ethanol.. And actually on the alcohol subject, breathalyzers don't exactly look for ethanol, they look for anything with a methyl group.. Alcohol has that, but so do a ton of other things..

THC is the main active ingrediant in cannabis. Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol

Theres all sorts of other cannabinoids and cannabinols which are also phsycoactive.

Some arnt active, but when you put them with an active cannabinoid/cannabinol [CBD CBN] they can increase the phsycoactivity.

THC is used by the body and is out of the blood 2 -4 hours after smoking.

The CBN/CBD part is whats left over in urine/hair/fat lipids, and its these they test for.

Drug testing doesnt prove your high, just that you have been high in the past few weeks.

Our bodies produce the chemicals naturally, but in very small amounts - when you smoke and effectivly activate your CB1 receptors theres much much more left over in the fat.

Thats why working out and exercising, while drinking plenty of water [not too much, it's not like weed, it can kill you if you overdo it!] will get the best results in drug tests.

ganjman is correct (+rep), but one thing he didn't add is that other cannabinoids can decrease the psychoactivity.. (Those that work with THC are called agonists, the opposite is called an antagonist.. This is widespread throughout medication terminology..)
I don't know what the state of affairs is with false positives honestly, and yes these molecules may look extremely similar, but one of the 5 basic rules of organic chemistry is that organic molecules tend to assume the properties of their functional groups (a functional group is basically a dangling end of the molecule, [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Functional_group ]).. Butane for instance has no functional groups and thus is very inert 'chemically'.. This makes it a nice clean solvent for extractions etc.. The bulk of the carbon structure is usually pretty damned inert under reasonable temperatures/pressures..

That leaf thing is already out there. The leaves are short and fat. From the top the growth pattern is undenyably weed though. They need to gen eng. with a blueberry, or blackberry bush. Or maybe make it legal all throughout america and the world. Then we could get this all underway, and make our countries some money.
