u could never give your plants to much light, nothing more powerfull then the sun. outdoors is the way to go if you have a good spot. I like to FIM my plants i get plenty of nice colas this way.

I disagree ~ Never too much light~ T5s are not to hot and you can get them close if you wanted, but when you do get them close, you get a negative respones.

My lights give out WAY more lumes then the sun.
They just don't give all the colors of the rainbow, you know.

good point......sun gives out like 15k while 1000w hps puts out like 45k or something like that is what ive always heard.

People who are not familiar with the 1KW lighting systems that are commonly used in northwestern grow rooms are often shocked at the blinding light intensities that they can generate. Sometimes I like to turn the lights off and point out to them how dark it is without them. No man made light source will ever match the intensity of the sun. Without adequate light or light in the correct [color] spectrums, green plants will not grow. Cannabis is arguably the most light-loving plant species on the planet. A cannabis plant that does not get enough light will be sad and spindly with small leaves and buds and a lot of stem. If you follow the directions in here under 'lighting', you should not have a problem. Don't be suprised if it seems bright, it's supposed to be. In fact, I have taken to wearing mountaineering sunglasses with side panels and U.V. protection whenever I am in my grow rooms, due to the fact that I have noticed my vision deteriorate over the years, undoubtedly from constant exposure. These type of shades also have rubber hooks that go around the backs of your ears to keep them on your head when you are looking down all the time.

I always say the proof is in the pudding, and when I have my T5HO 19" or closer, they do not respond well and lose the green in there leafs. If I keep my lights 20-23 inches away from tops, My Ladies grow with vigor, and are green as can be.
Check out todays pictures below. My 8 bulb 4 foot T5 is about 21" from top.
