Actually, Fdd has been tinkering with the notion of polinating pre-flowers.. That would be sweet if its doable.. Your crop is only at risk when alot of pistils are waiting for pollen.. Pollen hates water.. If you want to destroy it to be safe, hose down the plants/area a few times..

I understand it pollinates the pistils
although on my mom even though under 24 hours of light. her pre flowers still has pistils showing...

thanks for the input everyoneIn Much

I'm rooting for seeds to grow on your preflowers.. Try not to disturb those.. I know pollen can grow under a vegging light cycle, perhaps seeds too, but honestly I don't know if preflowers are actually viable reproducers, but if they are, then those 5-10 seeds could be the ultimate convenience for small scale sustainability..

This was a very good question and opens the door for a fascinating experiment.

I agree that hosing the mother plant down will virtually eliminate any possibility of transfer. However, what if you did not do that and cloned the mother as is?

It would be interesting to see what would happen. Especially if you are toying with breeding (and it reads like you are); one or two experimental seeds would not ruin a bud.

I'm glad you liked the video. Everyone should view it whether they smoke or not.

going to take some clones today and see what happens= )
after they root ill probably mist the clones off really well to make sure no exesting pollen stays on them.. that will be pretty awesome if each clone just produces a couple seeds *big smile*

I did notice today that some of the pistils on the mother look like they had been pollinated, they had dried up and kinda turned a bit brown, from a couple days ago being white.

ill keep yall up 2 date, ill let fdd know of my results as well.
I couldnt really find much info on the subject.. In
time to wake and bake = )

Do you mean preflower pistils on the mother, or are you revegging it to motherhood?
Seriously don't worry about the clones.. Pollen needs virtually desicated conditions to stay viable long term, clones get misted alot under humid conditions by standard procedure..
If you've got buds on the table perhaps 2-7 weeks into 12/12 then by all means panic your ass off, run out to the street and tap into a fire hydrant (JK), but if not I'd be surprised if a single seed results.. And thats kind of unfortunate really.. I've never once complained because there were a couple viable seeds in a bag.. Its the hollows and husks that piss me off because they can sneak into your bowl alot easier than a beefy plant producing seed..

Yeah the mother is a golden goat clone I received from another breeder.. she has been under 24 hours of light for about 9 months now. She has pretty much always had pre flowers on her since I got her= )

Im not worried about the clones, I actually need some beans= )

More curious about the effects of having a mother pollinated..
I am going to put the mother by the Male blueberry for a couple days ensuring cross pollination, always keeping the mom under 24/7 light..
Give it a week or 2. take some clones, and see what happens= )

I want to make sure that mother is dusted with pollen, before I take clones.
Ill rise the mom plant off really well a few days before taking clones, to insure no further contamination from pollen.

The clones will either produce no seeds, a few seeds or alot of seeds. Im excited to see what happens..

LMAO at tapping the fire hydrant

I really don't think there will be any effect on the clones.. There won't be any kind of hormone shift or the like to signify polination has occuredI'm not even sure any effect will be observed at all, just hoping for those preflowers to take, but I'm skeptical since Fdd has been trying and failing so far..
Its funny how plants act both as a single life-form, and at the same time local areas of the plant can almost take on a new life like siamese twins.. I've seen a single branch get put into 12/12 while the rest of the plant kept vegging.. Lacking a messenger to communicate a condition, one branch has no idea what another is doing..
