Ok I have a issue I know can be won. I currently have all my sprouted seedlings in rockwool and they average a inch or so. I cannot place these cubes in there hydroton buckets at the time. Reasons in my post

Anyhow I need to keep them in there cubes until I can take a cutting and force sex lol not "force sex" decipher sex and eliminate weak and male to make room. is there a way like put cube in a bag or can I possibly just let them go. Roots only have pencil tip size tips sticking out.

You could cut pieces from a black trash bag, and cover them up. Otherwise they'll likely shrivel up and start dying.

Now is this bag idea for sure ? I have contemplated this but am weary of a few factors. 1.How will the roots do in a plastic bag. 2.How will I drain water from bags. 3.Will the roots get air ? If these can be done then Im game. What say TeaTreeOil ?

maybe you could just get bigger rockwool cubes, cut holes in the top so the current ones can fit right in, and let them grow down into the new rockwool?

I'd just cut pieces and not fully 'bag' them. But cut out squares, cut a slit for the stem, and just create a radiant barrier from the light hitting the roots. Like a hat? Is that a decent analogy?

Direct light kills roots.

I personally just wrap the rockwool in a piece of black trash bag with a few good size slits on the bottom & very bottom of the sides of the trash bag for drainage. I have never had a problem with the roots touching the trash bag.
