During my current grow, I had the misfortune of losing half my crop (indoor crop), due to thrips and my attempts to get rid of them. Needless to say, the whole thing left some of my remaining plants slightly to moderatley damaged. I do have other plants in the same grow that were not exposed to all this and are undamaged. All my plants are still vegging.
So finally to my question, Should I extend the vegging state of my remaining plants to increase my yield make up for the lost plants or would it be better to flower on schedule? Also, if I veg longer, will that shorten my flowering period? And will it have any effect on the THC levels of said plants? Oh well, let me know what you think. Thanks everyone.

You can veg as long as you want pretty much. Veg time is usually correlated to the amount of space you have.
You can veg 1 week or 3 months, it just depends on you. Well, I take that back sort of, most strains will reach a point where they pretty much tell you, "Hey! I'm ready to go." Longer veg does not make flowering shorter or longer. A plant will take 8 - 10 weeks to flower with almost every strain. You can get a strain like AK47 where it finishes in 47 days, but that's just that strain. Veg time has no affect on THC.

Ok. Thanks. You know it's funny you mentioned Ak, because that's the majority of what I'm growing. The others are a cheese strain. |

ya vegging can last however long u want. for example a motherplant can stay in veg for a year. most growers will swithc out mothers by then tho. but if u want to grow a larger yield at the end of ur flower period then veg a while longer to allow the plant to grow more nodes. also try LST (low stress training) this way u can maximize each plants yield by having more then one main cola to grow large nug on. hope it works out for ya!

First, Squidbillies are too funny! Dan Halen lmao
I would consider how much space you have to flower in before you go with more veg time. I got delayed with the room build and have very little vertical room left in the tent. LST'ing helps but I still have just run out of room. Hope this helps. |

Awesome! Glad to hear your a squidbillies fan! Anyways, I'm not going to extend the veg time of my Ak-47 plants. I already extended the cheese's veg time by about a month. And they are huge!! The average height is 21 inches! I wish I could veg the Ak-47 longer, but I can't due to limited space. Damn though, I've never seen weed grow as fast as Ak-47! It's truly amazing! I'm going to extend the veg time of my next grow too. From my estimates, by extending the veg time of my cheese plants by an extra month, I've almost doubled my yield! I'm not a 100% but we'll see when I harvest. Thanks for all your help and imput guys.
