Ive seen some discussion about these bulbs, how they run at lower temps, and that it has it has tighter buds.

If this is accurate, why hasnt it really caught on? Wouldnt everyone be using them? Anyone use them and coming back to HPS?

No one has had exerpeince with these bulbs?
FYI for the ones that dont know, CMH stands for Ceramic Metal Halide

I just got one. The horizontal version. 400w Phillips. 29000 lumen's I am using an old HPS ballast.

So far all I have done is test it and was pretty happy with the results. First I put my light meter 19 inches away from the center of the HPS bulb I have and I got 1200 lumen's. Then I switched to the new CMH bulb and got 1900 in the same location. I put my hand close to the light and it was cooler.

Largest wattage available is 400 watts. Works on 400w Magnetic HPS ballast.





Full Spectrum bulb at 4000k 400 watts. I have flowered with a standard Metal Halide at 4000K before and got great results. My first grow with Water farms was 400W MH in the center. This is suppose to be much better then that.

Could be I just had a crappy bulb in my cabinet grow but I cant wait until I start flowering again!

Cool let us know how it affects the flowering phase. Anyone whos had experience with both?

I am considering buying a CMH for my 400 watt ballast. After reading up on them, they seem to give off a much wider spectrum with the same lumen output when compared to standard MH.

Cruzer, have you taken temps since starting to use the CMH? Are they that much cooler?

using a cmh now temps at 12-14" from seedling tops are 75F, cool tube is cool to the touch after 18hrs of running!!!
