Hi i know this has probably been answered a million times. Anyways. I am posting this pic so that you might see my question in detail (yes its a paint 30 second pic).

The grid represents chicken wire or whatever.
the Circle in the very center is 1 plant.
The red line is the Stem.
the green \ / are leaves / branch nodes / bud
the splatters near the \ / is bud up.


Anyways finally i can get to my question. :/

I have seen alot of scrog pics and journals that have shown the plant just basicaly grown under the screen and branches moved to there own prospective screen opening but what I am wondering would you produce more via that method or would you produce more & larger sized buds if the scrog was done as follows.

Plant is placed under the center of screen.
As the top grows it is bent and circled outward from itself lining up the \ / leaf/branch nodes with chicken wire O as it grows. As you get close to the end of your circling of the chicken wire trim all growth above the chicken wire to its lowest couple of nodes. then throw into 12/12.

Would doing it this way produce more? I would assume you would produce more uniform height of buds and you would get some nice nuggets from each O in the screen.

Any info? anyone have links to real detailed scrog setups?

That's basically just using a screen to LST (Low Stress Train). Just look up LST techniques for general info on how it would work.

Your main stem would be like 7' long at 3 laps around & you'd spend so much time veg'ing for very little additional gain. I've done 3 scrogs now & usually spend 2-3 weeks "weaving" the growth back under the screen - after this I will work the taller ones & allow the smaller stuff to catch up. Works pretty well for me - 10 plants last grow & waiting for a final weight but I suspect its gonna go to around 3 lbs.

with a scrog, the plant doesn't grow willy nilly. you decide where it goes/grows. you place the branch where you want it to be. if it won't stay, use a bread tie and make it stay. with a scrog, you don't get large buds, you just get more buds that are littler. if there is a bare spot in the screen, lead the branch to that area. you could prob. do what you're asking about, but the regular method is quicker. scrogging takes longer than a normal grow anyways, no sense it making it even longer.

Two 600 w MH/HPS depending on the season - soil, mostly organic, lots of ventilation & fans too. My significant other and I (read wife) spent over 12 hours trimming couple weeks ago. Whew, I wore out those sissors. I also got .79 oz of bubble also.
BTW, the big jars are 1 gallon & the small are wide mouth quart's. I compressed the shit out of the buds to fit it all in them too.
We're set for a while !

Just let the plant grow up to where you want the screen to be, and as it grows spread out the shoots. Instead of thinking coil, think spiderweb.
