Ok I have a blueberry male, I also have a white widow male, if I put the two males with a female( golden goat)
what would happen? would the golden goat be pollinated by both strains, thus equalling blueberry x widow x golden goat. and the seeds produced would they be stable? I cant decide which male I want to use to breed with as they are both incredible, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by LegalizeCannabisHemp; 04-20-2009 at 02:33 PM.. |

You'd get individuals of each male cross, not a combination of all three genetics in one seed.. Also the ratio may not be nearly equal since some pollen is more vigorous than others.. I'd suggest you read FDD's seed thread and carefully apply each type to separate branches as outlined in a few methods..

The resulting seeds would be either golden goat x white widow or golden goat x blueberry not a combination of the three. There would be no way to tell which seeds were which without growing them out and even then it will take a trained eye. If you then breed the two resulting strains you will end up with a more stable than average f1 or a less stable than average f2 strain much like golden goat with hints of blueberry and white widow.

Do you honestly believe thats a reliable enough trait? Seeds are so varied even in a single given cross that I seriously doubt you could tell which was the dominant cross just by looking at the seeds. That is unless one plant has completely irregular seeds..

About the only way to assure that you would know what seeds were the result of which male would be to keep the males separate from the female(s) and then selectively pollinate different female flowers and mark them so you know which pollen was used for each.
The only way to get the triple cross you asked about would be to first pollinate with one male and then pollinate the female plants grown from those seeds with the other male. It would still just be pollen tossing and not what could be accurately defined as breeding but many people do it and some even market their beans and call themselves breeders.
