so i was talking to this dude on the airplane a few weeks ago who was like a security systems engineer (like data encryption and server protection) for a major firm that he owns that does a lot of work for the government.. hes obviously legit because he was buying me vodka tonics on his amex black card (i mention all the credentials to show hes not some computer geek talking out of his ass)

anyways i donno how we got to talking about it but he was saying that if you create an electromagnetic field generator, and place it directly behind your electric meter (like on the opposing side of the wall) and have the north and south poles on each side of the meter, that the field it generates will actually cause the meter to spin significantly slower.. like one you could build for a couple hundred bucks would slow it by half..

he also said that it is undetectable to everything except for the electric company coming out with an emf tester to see if there was a field present.. which he in turn said if you connect the meter to a switch activated by a motion sensor that when they came by it would switch off and there would be no way of knowing..

so now that ive said that, has anyone ever heard of anything like that or are there any electricians out there that could shed some light on whether or not this would actually work? seems like an interesting expirament

That is some crazy shit. I can't answer that question, but I do know that electromagnetic fields assist in the ionization process of plant roots. A few magnets will make your weed grow faster.

Yes electric meters work using a magnet. So if you put a magnetic field up to it, then it would slow it down, if its string enough it might even run back wards. Of course you would have to experiment first to find out where you would need to place the north and south poles. Upside down and you might be running the meter backwards. You shouldn't need an electromagnetic field generator aka electromagnet, just a magnet of the right strength.

I see the good in electromagnetic though, you could have a photosensor (cheap) wired to a relay (real cheap) so that when someone walks by the photosensor its activated and it kills the relay which would kill power to the Electromagnet, and you would be less likely to get caught. Also you could adjust the intensity of the field with an oscillating resistor so that you could spped up or slow down the rate of the needle, hell even turn it back. And you could swap the poles easily.

Electric companies know about this though bro. Some companies even have anti magnetic boxes so that this cannot be done. Others just have computer programs that will redflag if someone electricity just cuts in half or stops, then they will investigate. Also the government rewards the actual worker who finds power thieves and cannabis growers so the employees are out to get ya. Remember thats a felony and you can get 5-99 years in jail of course money changes it all. If ya hire an expensive lawyer they will make it 2nd degree felony and you will get 2-10 years. Your choice bro, id suggests investing in a solar panel, or if you live in a windy city a wind mill. Hell you can even make your own if you can weld and have access to a used generator or large electric motor. Lamp

i feel that about usage and all that, and the place i wanna do it has a prehistoric meter lol its definitely not shielded, the thing must be 30 years old at least..

and i definitely feel you on them looking out for it with sudden stops n lowered bills, thats why i was planning on doubling up the power usage, while making the meter spin half speed, in turn paying the same bill for twice the energy.. i dont see how anyone would be able to tell if they cant sense the electromagnet and there is no obvious tampering.. the only way would be to measure the power in the transformer, which happens to be in view of the house lol

yes you can do this with one glass,two wires about 10 inches long, two strong magnets, and distilled water ,gray tape. take both wires strip off 2" off of each end on both wires hook a magnet on each wire wrap the bare wire around them. then tape each wire inside the glass one on each side fill glass with water so the wires are in it go out side put glass on top of meter you want a magnet to hang on each side of the glass meter dome you see were the dile spins around make sure the magnets are in line with the dile this will slow it down now remember the bigger and stronger the magnet the more it will slow it down and make sure no one sees it so you don't get turned in to the poe poe AND TAKE IT DOWN BEFORE THEY READ YOUR METER!! now you can also find a house that has been foreclosed on and take there meter get your self a set of picks there is a lock out tag on your meter you can pick the tag off pull your meter out put the other one in and run it for a week or two then pull it out and put yours back in. JUST DONT GET BUSTED!!BY THE WAY i dont like stealing myself but if it was bad karma then there would be alot of C.E.O.s and goverment workers haveing alot of bad luck right now!! from the looks of it there makeing out like FAT RATS!!
