I topped four of my plants and three have turned male. I have'nt had this high of a male to female ratio in the year that I have been growing . I experimented with root stim and had more males, now experimented with topping and the same. is it the added stress? Because I would give up the extra yield for reliable females. any help?

Stress usually make hermies not males, i think your just having bad luck. Lots of people top and fim and naver have problems. Root stims are a new deal but most of them are just phosphorus with something similar to h2o2 so the roots get high oxygen. Its prolly like P2O2. Also some contain yucca, which has no scientific evidence in plants but some anecdotal. Yucca has a chemical that stimulates mucus in humans, and so the anecdotal evidence is the same for plants roots.

I really dont see why either would lead to more males. The topping could lead to more herms though. Lamp

Yea i had one going once, topped it and it turned into the john holmes of mj plants, big healthy bastad. I really would have loved to have it around as a house plant but figured wasnt worth the risk. It had like 30 shouts on it and shaped like a bonzi. Needless to say it was like scarface met edward sizzor hands cuttin that fucka to shreads.

HAHA, try putting bananas at the base of all the plants in veg. the ethylene gas that is emitted by bananas will help promote females. Change them out after they brown. Also 12/12 while they are seeds until they have true leaves will help the number of females. And finally you can also put your seeds in a bag with banana peels, the ethylene gas will help them decide to be females. Lamp
