i got some leaves in the frige from a few plants i harvested in the last 4 days,i was reading the recipe in the growFAQ it says that i need some fiberglass mesh for the filtering witch i dont have and i was wondering can i use gauze

Just use a sieve to separate the large matter. A sieve is just those food strainers with a metal screen.

Then if you want to make the hash more pure you can take the strained liquid and strain it again in pantyhose. But the best is to go to a hobby shop and get silk screen at about 125 microns, the smaller the number of microns the less hash but more potent, the best hash is from 35 microns. People consider 220 screens the work horse, thats where you start to refine. pantyhose has about the same microns. Lamp

I dont like gauze b/c ts probably cotton and it will absorb some of the thc. Probably wouldn't be much but i like to be conservative when making hash, a little is alot.

thanks for the info lampshade, i'm planning on trying my hand at making ace hash aswell. if i only have a handful of plants i clipped leaves from do you suggest:
125 microns
220 microns
or 35 microns???

i just don't want to waste a lot of time and end up with very very little hash because i went with a really micron screen. thanks

Just use the cooking sieve if you have less than an ounce of skiv. Or a 200 micron screen. If its not much though, its better to make iso hash or honey oil since you get more with those methods just less potent. Whenever i harvest only a plant or two i just make bhange. Lamp

Iso hash and oil are reeeaaalll easy. First iso hash. Get yourself some 99% alcohol you can use weaker as long as the only additive is water. Some people use acetone but i suspect that would leave some residue. So next mix your skiv and alcohol in a jar or tupperware. Let soak overnight. Then simply allow all alcohol and water to evaporate. Some people use crock pots, which are easy to scrape. Others use cooking pots, which are a pain in the ass to scrape. I like to use a pyrex measuring cup on a stove top. Dont worry pyrex wont crack under heat. Get yourself a snowboard glove or kitchen mitten though to handle the measuring cup. Boil the alcohol away on lowest heat possible that boils lightly. Make sure to vent the room, alcohol is putred and can be flammable. Once there is only a little alc. left and its starting to get thick take it off the stove and let the rest air dry, then scrape all of it off with a warm razor blade or other flat piece of metal or plastic.

Ok honey oil is easier, but i think iso is a little better since it has time to soak, and higher temps. So for honey get you a 12 inch long piece of 1 inch PVC pipe, and two end caps. Then get two or three bottle of butane. Now put on one end cap, and stack the tube with your skiv, then put on the other cap. Drill a whole in the center of each end cap but make sure that one hole is the same size as the tip on the butane bottle. Next simply insert the tip of the butane can into the tube and push down and collect all the liquid that pours out the bottom hole in a large pyrex pan. The liquid will be bright green and will be bubbling hardcore. Do this outside to vent, since you dont need heat. You can place a fan on the bubbling liquid to speed up the process quite a bit. Then again just scrape with a mildly heated razor. Lamp

I mean you popcorn buds and trimmings, and tiny fan leaves. Lamp
