I am on my first flower of my first grow week 5 this Sat. (you cant tell me nutin) From where I sit I dont think my buds are going to measure up to what i have been seeing in pics here. WTF are people useing on plants to get those my buds bigger then your bud shots. I have seen some huge un-natural looking shits. Will i ever experience those with a 250w system or do i have to upgrade my setup to experience them.

You will see a deffrence in bud size with two ways. Increasing vegitation time prior to flowering 3 weeks and during it first foot of growth start topping and trainging the lower horizontal stalks to act as top shutes. I have just started this meathod of super croping but from what I have seen, the yeild can increase 3 fold. Also, if you do not wish to increase veg time, reduce # of plants and watch the water leaves near the bottom of the plant. Keep them to a minimum and allow 3 days between plucking them off so plant can heal.

Are you saying veg time should be three weeks I veg fr six weeks. Are you saying you started super croping and what does plucking those lower leaves do for me.

Check it out man, I would go with at least 400 watts of power. I would veg for like 3-4 weeks, and super crop. Here, I'll try to put it in simple terms. When growing indoors, you normally only have light coming from the top. Therefore, all the lower branches are kind of useless. They will still bud up, but it will be small and a pain in the ass to manicure. When you pluck the lower leaves, the plant is less stressed because now instead of trying to keep all those lower leaves healthy, it focuses it's energy up top, where it will matter. If you are in week five of flower however, all I would do is pluck the lower leaves, pluck the unhealthy leaves, and increase the light. I would say it's too late to do supercropping, you could stunt the growth. Good luck!

i agree with hobo -- at this point, supercropping is not really an option.

i felt like you -- when i started i was getting SHIT compared to some of the veteran growers here. i started super cropping and added light (im at 400w HPS now) and am LOVING the results.

if you want to see my first (shitty) harvests, they were some of the first posts ive made, and the bubblegum (first super-cropping) is in the signature.

Bud size (potential) is genetic.

Do you really want a few big nugs? You could instead opt to grow for overall weight. You're going to have to cut-up any big colas to fit into a jar for curing anyway. Don't fool yourself bro; you want max weight.

buds look skinny that early on, they have a second "stretch period" but instead of stretching, they put on a lot of bulk pretty close to when harvest is, you will learn that after youve got one under your belt.

i would think about vegging until you can identify sex based on pre flowers, then cull the males, and flower the girls. Or, veg your clones for 6 weeks, the final hybrid height should be about 3-4 feet.

But thats too tall for your light, look into some topping/training methods. gl

ps, i run a 1000w hps flowering chamber, and i can tell you from experience, less lumens equals less bud, you, you just arent getting the penetration of a more powerful light, maybe you should look into a scrog setup, thats a good way to max out your lights available footprint.
