I am not new to growing but very new to breeding plants. For the past couple of years I have been putting my emphasis on generating the ultimate guerilla plant and now I finally have it. The plant is about eight inches tall and looks like a little yellow stick of celery. None of the leaves are much larger than an American quarter and about two dozen super-short branches popping out all at random. the plant is female and has been flowering for about two weeks. I've heard about selfing but don't want to transmit the hermaphrodite genes into the offspring. How do I keep these features alone and true breed the strain to retain just these traits?

When "selfing" marijuana, GIBBERELLIC ACID (GA3) is used to create a male flower on a female. thus creating self pollination. this is the best way to breed a true strain. alltho for some Phytohormones are hard to obtain.

So what about the hermaphrodite trait? Doesn't it pass on to the next generation?

The hermaphrodite trait is natural to most every strain of cannabis. It's a natural method to ensure propagation until fresh genetic stock can come into the area.

When "selfing" the plant has alot better chance of producing feminized seeds. Due to the factor that it is a female plant pollinating itself. although all seeds have 50/50 gender outcome. this also keeps genes FRESH making them consistent and highly fertile. due to genes crossing back.
