i got two 3gallon pots (barrels) stacked on top of eachother with big holes drilled at the bottom of one..roots r dangling out of the holes and i just started putting some of my water and nuts into the other pot so the roots could feel the moisture and reach for the water and they have and r almost touching the water..when i water the soil the water drip out the holes into the other pot and i empty it out n put in new water and or nutes...i think ima put in a air stone so it would be a DWC x Soil grow haha it is 2009 ...so far its all cherry tho been doing it since veg but now the roots r long and hanging out of the holes so i think i will try the air stone>>>GOOD IDEA OR NOT WHAT DO U GUYS THINK??

Im watching this one with interest cuz I germ'd my seeds in soil in anticipation of getting my hydro shyyt and it took a little longer than expected to arrive. Now i got 4 plants in 4 pots and the size of 'em says I should just leave it until next time to start from the begginning with hydro.. Had the thought of setting up the airstones etc cuz the plant pots have holes in like yours do and I got the airstones etc.. Hmm..

yeah there has been a couple of threads kinda like this, and the consensus is try it, it cant hurt and it might really take off
the basic theory is that the top 1/3 of roots take in nutes, and the bottom 2/3 just take in water.
dont waste time putting nutes into the bottom DWC bucket, they will drip down there in there own time.
just remember to empty the DWC bucket ever now and them cause all the shit will build up in it making it a toxic mess of salts if its left forever.
