so ive been checking out alot of vertical setups lately and i really like the concept of using a vertically hung bulb and growing around it. i always thought i couldnt try a system like this because i keep my plant numbers at 5 or less(misdemeanor in my state). but the last few days ive been toying with the idea of a 2 plant, 3 sided vertical scrog wrapped around a 400W hps. i think i want to use seperate DWC buckets for each plant allthough i do have a 3'x3' ebb n flow tray i may free up soon.

im thinking set the screen in a 'U' shape about 18" away from the bulb with the 2 plants on either side and train them up and out. i realize im probably looking at at least 6-8wks veg time to fill the 25 or so square feet of canopy i figure i can wrap around a 400w hps.

what do you guys think? i bet i can breach the GPW marker easily in 13-14 weeks clone to harvest.

If it was me, I'd do 4 plants in 5 gallon bubblers around the lamp. To make it really work though, you'll need a strain that has strong side-branching..... anything Skunk-dom would be nice. I know you could probably get a 400w about 6 or 8" from the plants without burning them.

that would be better because of less veg time, but i mentioned my 5 plant limit. i dont want to tie up that many of my plants in an experiment. ill be using Northern Lights so i think im good there. and i figure if my screen is 14-18" away from the light my plants should end up around 6-8" away.

im doing a build-out on my room that will take a few days but when im done im gonna try this out. im gonna go pick up the bubbler supplies today.

How many lamps do you have? If there's only the 1 HID and/or space is limited, you might as well go full on; that way you really know what potential it has. I'd be more inclined to reveg the plants, than worry about losing out because of numbers.

plant count is my ONLY restriction. i have the lamps and the space. what i do not have is extra bud to last me while i veg 4 plants for 2 months.

if i get the results i desire i might do a perpetual vertical scrog. just have 2 areas, one with 2 plants in veg(one starting and one a month in) and one with 2 plants in flower(one starting and one a month in).

but until i know it will work i cant afford the plants.

i bought the stuff for 2 - 5 gal buckets today, i will go with those for now.

sorry...ive been distracted lately.

i only have one of two bubble buckets set up right now because i decided to use 2 airstones in one bucket instead of one each. i also have to do some renovations to my basement before i can rig up the vertical lighting.

i guess im behind.
