this is a short discussion

it is way to expensive, its a wonderful addition to your home if you live in a state that has strong sun exposure all year round.
some states offer rebates and such for installing them, i looked into it and it is such a pain in the ass to get.
it could cost 20g's for only 3kh worth of solar equipment.
and you can only get about 5-8 hours of sunlight daily to power the thing.
its too early on in the game to seriously use this.

Not that short, "it could cost" isn't very accurate. There are systems you can assemble yourself. Of coarse this wouldn't cover you bill, but maybe there is a product that could put a large enough dent on your bill to avoid detection on a medium to small operation.

the last time i checked was 2-3 months ago, those were the ranges i remember
im not a salesman, if i said it was 18g's and its 15g's, whats the difference?
ballpark figures, i bet you cant afford it anyway
your not going to get a large discussion on this thread, i just gave you one cause i felt bad for you, thats my opinion

maybe you can do a search on what they cost 3 months later

oh by the way, that was the price after state rebates and such for a 3kw system

tell me a little more about the cheaper self installation package you mentioned

A cheaper option would be to install/upgrade your home's efficiency to reduce your energy consumptions outside your grow room. Such as better insulated windows, solar thermal water heating, more efficient air conditioning and properly placed landscaping to shade your home in the summer and block winds in the winter.
-my 2 cents

With research, there are less expensive methods.. hydrogenappliance.com is a good start. I spend lots of time offgrid. producing all my own power..Yes initial start up is high, but with some DIY time online ans not following the hred about styles, it can be done with ease.. I'm doing a CFL grow off grid next summer. Should be cool.
