Greeting fellow tokers/growers. Im on my first grow and wanted to make this baby as potent as possible. I've heard that UVB light can increase trichs so i got me a 10.0 lizard light at the pet store. There doesnt seem to be too much info on UVB use, any one have an idea how much i should use it. Right now i have it on all the time 12hrs at about 13'' away from the tops but i also read you could fry the plants with them. Any one know how much i should have this thing on for? Will 12hrs kill the plant? Any comments or advice would help.

UVB is like the late summer rays (like 2700 kevin) for Blooming, and uva is the spring time sun, like 6500 kevin for Vegging.

well mine is only 3 inches from my plants i have 10.0 26 whatt looks like cfl light.

now i move this light it only stays over one plant for 6 hr then is gets moved around the room

now i dont know with how far you have it you might not need to move it but you might not get the cover that you need.


now when i first got this light i was only using it on 2 plants out of 8 and i think they got sun burned because some of the big fan leaves that were really close the green looks like its separating and leaving yellow.

I read somewhere that its supposed to be at least 12'' away. I have it at about 12''-13'' away right now, this way i can spread it through the whole canopy and expose all tops. But what i dont know is how much it should be getting? Ive been reading a bunch of forums and articles some people use it for a few hours a day, i got it on for the whole 12 everyday and keeping my eye on it. How many hours did you use it for?

i like to try new things see what happens you never know but yes i have heard that people only run them in the middle of ther cycle for 5 to 6 h

let me know how the 12/12 works out for u dude , im gona do some trial and error with the uva's through veg on 1 if i can isolate to try and compare.

ive had mine for a few days now. i noticed a couple leaves of one plant looking fuckin wierd. dead, yellow, dried but in a wierd way, diff from heat or anything ive seen. im pretty sure it was from the uvb bulb, cuz it was directly above that plant and relatively close the first couple days i think. so now i have it about a foot over the canopy in the middle so it will hit as much as possible.
