Default Grafting small plant to big rootstock

Hi there fellow rollitupers I had this great idea but cant really find any info out there So i turn to yous out there

Is it possiple when your ready to cut down your beutiful matured plant to cut it off at the base then graft to the stem a clone / or take a smaller plant in veg and cut it at its base and graft that to the already well established rootstock
and do you think if it did work that it would there be any benifit

My theory is that the plant you grafted would not have to waste any time growing its roots and could concentrate on getting big and fat ....

The only drawback i can think of is maybe you wouldnt do this in dirt only hydro because the dirt would be pillaged of all it nutes

sounds interesting, cut ya finished product off at the stem,leaving the internal tube,take a cutting ,dipping it in root hormone then place it in the tube of the stem,wack it under fluroes and FARk it may work lol,deff in aero tho gota keep it moist 24/7 till ya get it up and well rooting?

Thanks there mate so now i now how to do it but the plants in the examples are only about a week difference in age and both in veg stage unlike what i am proposing
Looks like i am going to have just try it there is not much risk if i just use an unwanted youg plant

Thanks mate thats helpfull and to put clones on male rootstock is a pretty good idea i supose
