Just wanting to get someones opinion, This will be my first Scrog grow And have topped my girls using FIM, and now have an average of 6 tops ( two main and other side shoots), I am using just under 2ft sq per plant with two 400w digi's on 5ft rails with 6 4ft floro's in 3 fixtures, in each flouro fixture is one 10% uvb reptile light, My question is in Scrog how many colas should I be aiming for, and if I should only have 2-3 should I simply remove the others early in veg or cut out when switching to 12/12? I can wait longer if I can achieve higher yield/ denser buds. 2nd question how full should the canopy be before switching to 12/12?

Hi, I might not be the utmost authority on this, but from experience and reading, Switch to flower when the screen is about 1/2 full as you can expect them to grow twice or even triple their size once they go into flowering, I try to get as many tops as i can into the screen under the light up until 2 weeks into flowering exposing as many budsites to light as possible along the way, after that i cut everything that i cant tie to the screen below it OFF(I most of the large fan leaves to try and promote all growth to budding sites), you can leave them on if you want but they will generally turn yellow and rot off later due to lack of light. U can take clones of the things you lop off, currently i have just finished pruning under my screen, and have about 12 tops and the bud sites along each stem are just starting to come out... i veg'd for 35 days and currently am 3 days into my 12/12 schedule... With the UVB i think one of them will be enough if youre trying that UV potency deal, use the other two with RED spectrum tubes, as side lighting to promote better coverage of the lower screen sites.

a minor accident occured and i snapped the main stem off..about 4 nodes from the top... so yeah i lose the main cola...but gained 3 clones its short..but quite wide...and all undergrowth has been removed... so it looks kinda ... anorexic...

lol umm well wait should i cut off the fan leaves? because i have a moderate size crop and i havent cut off the fan leaves yet and i havent really seen any buds pop out and its been 2 weeks

It's under flouro's but that's still pretty small for 35 days.

Fan leaves cause a lot of heated discussion, i cut them off of one side to see what would happen, and i liked what happened so i proceeded to cut everything off... i wanted to cut everything off before the screen got too full cos of lack of space and its hard to get under the screen once the thing starts budding... works for me.. yup it would be about 4 inchs taller if the accident never occured... but yeah shit happens... i also Topped/fimmed once before the accident at 2 weeks...probably caused a lot of stunting... the accident happend just before i switched to 12/12, yup theyre flouros, using 3 x 105 wat cfls with rocket booster reflectors lol

Mind you they have grown a bit since i took these. i dont like to take pictures often
