Default Green Bulb and Purple Plants
hey everyone, a quick question: i thought that plants dont respond to green light because its the only color reflected back at us, well what about purple plants? will the green light remain ineffective, will i need a purple light? will that purple light affect the green plants? if anyone could lighten this up for me itd be appreciated

plants do respond to green light, and any other color for that matter. green can be used as an emergency light in the flower room, in case you HAVE to get in there before the lights come on.

however, you can grow plants under green lights. it's not the best, but they do live and grow.

i know and i do have the green lights for emergency, its just a thought that occoured to me, also the majority of the green light dose reflect and i know for a fact it dosent do too much harm also do you guys think purple plants make full use out of blue lights like MH? im not actually sure why plants become purple other than its in their genetic makeup or a rare phenotype.

Light that is truly confined in the green section of the spectrum does NOT elicit a photosynthetic response in plants. I'd say trust me, I witness this daily in my work, but this is just the internet after all.

i would trust you, but i have two 14'' led discs, green diodes. i have grown plants with them, just to see if they did respond to green light.

they do, and do well. ANY light can and will be used for photosynthesis, even if it's not the "ideal" spectrum.
