Well i've been hearing about people making tincture with bud. So i started researching ways to make tincture and the basic theory of this and cant find much on it. Can someone lead me in the right direction? Also would you need something like herb press for it or just squeeze it with your hands?

the hightimes a few months ago on it, you pretty much take some buds and clippings grind them up putem' in a mason jar with h2o for 2 months and then, when it's ready you put a few drops under your toung.

What we did was put bud directly into a mason jar about a half oz id say. fill it up with some type of alcohol over 100proof. Throw it in your freezer, take it out and shake it up every day, let sit for 2 weeks. Drink away, the alcohol takes the thc from the bud good luck

Tincturing: This is the process of making an herbal extract by steeping ground herb in a liquid menstruum, thereby infusing the liquid with the active constituents of the herb. These active constituents are sometimes known as "extractives." The tincture itself is the finished product, a relatively stable solution of extractives that is preserved (usually with alcohol) against deterioration.

Pressing: This is the process wherein the macerating extract is thoroughly squeezed or "expressed," thereby separating the herb from the liquid, which is now infused with the activity of the herb. This can be accomplished by hand. Drape the pressing cloth over a bowl, pour the macerating extract into it, close up the top, and by kneading, squeezing, and twisting, wring as much liquid into the bowl as your strength will allow. This can also be accomplished with a tincture press. Not only does this press out the menstruum, but it also forces the intrinsic plant water out of fresh plant material. The tincture flows from the pan down a hose and is captured in a receiving vessel. Using a tincture press greatly increases the yield from a given batch of extract, making the most of your expenditure for alcohol and your valuable work in growing the herbs.

so in my conclusion ill be buying an herb press from herb press (cheapest i could find) to make some tincture!! ill let everyone know how it turns out.

just a little research ive done hope it pays off!!

Ok got my press today!!! I did it two ways I first just hand squeezed it with the two bowls, put the tincture into one bowl. Then I could tell that there was still alot more to get out. I Then used my herb press and OMG it got so much more out, the herb was practically dry. That was the most concentrated part it was the best. I would "high"ly recommend this thing. and of course it went on sale now, but totally worth it at $79.

It puts something like 1000 lbs of pressure on it im only 114 lbs and standing on the two bowls wouldn't get that much tincture out.

I had been looking for a press to use myself and ended up buying the same one that you did since it was the cheapest one that i could find. I have found out that by pressing the bud out completely when making "Green Dragon" you get a way better high then just trying to squeeze it out by hand.

This works--put a buncha budlets in a jar, fill it up with blue-label 100 proof smirnoff, let it sit for a month, viola! Tincture for sippin' and tincture for putting on sore muscles, joints, whatever, works great!

so someone explain to me how you just sqeeze bud and drink it to get high? thc only becomes active after the glands are heated to over 350f degrees (or thereabouts). you cant just eat weed and get high.

Jeff of course you can/ The THC is in the plants whether or not you heat it up.
