Default why use chicken wire SOG
Hey fellow enthusiasts,

Q. why use chicken wire or similar cage round sea of green, its to do with developing buds but how? technique?

Q.would like to know as much on sea of green as poss, understand cloning process and how many plants etc but want to know about reason for mess will it creat a carpet of denser buds??? Cheers

Its just used to limit the height of the plant, so the the plants grow up to the wire and start bending under the wire exposing more of the plant to light. You just want a canopy of green leaves under your wire getting as much light as you can into a small area. If you do it right you should get a carpet of dense buds. And cloning you just cut off the new grow shoots off a female plant, cut the stem at 45 degree angle, put some rooting hormone on the stem, stick it in rockwool, give it some fluorescent light, not too much, and keep it really really really humid. It should start rooting after a week.

Hey for cloning you said to cut off the growth shots of a female but i just wanted to know when is the ideal time for this?

during veg, but you can do it early in flowering

Some people switch to 12/12 so they can spot the females, then they switch back to veg and take clones

No it's not too late. I have taken clones from a plant 2 weeks into the flowering period with success. You can take them at the very end too. Just takes longer to reveg them. So the earlier the better.

Its not to late as long as you didn't cut it down. Last grow i took a clone FIVE days befour I cut her down and my friend just cut it down TODAY!!!

It has revegged when it produces five bladed leaves.
