I'v only dealt with cfl's before this, so heat was something new to me, but it's easily controlled with an exhaust fan. It's about 10lbs because it has the ballast attached, so you gotta make sure whatever ur hangin from can handle it, but if its a decent set up you should be alright. I recieved it within a week of ordering, which is really unheard of where I am. I have nothing but good things to say about HTG Supply. and actually, thats what the majority of people will tell you
