That kind of soil is good for ferns and other houseplants, maybe the flower garden, but not for anything where top quality is really important. They're just too unpredictable - one week they could not release much, the next it could fertilize a lot. And there's no way to really tell for sure what's going on in a soil environment (hard to get a good ppm reading).
You can definitely get good results, so I'm not saying to ditch what you've got going now. Just be super careful. And if you want to avoid burning them you have to always be extra paranoid about your nute levels. That's why I don't like the time-release: you have to always underfeed just to be safe.

thanks man, that was a good read. i just use bio bizz at the moment with some AN additives. just been useing that in small dosses latly, once or twice a week and ph adjusted water the rest of the time.
ive already ordered some shit now lol, i thout id tri that supernatural terrapot. it does sound good with the humic & volic and stuff init. but it has got slow release, in layers tho. they layer soil & a soil substrate to minic how a plant whould grow in nature.
ive kept mother plants for a while, which i only feed when i think they look like they need it. get abit neglected. so hopfully i'll be ok with the supernatural. ive been in two minds about it. i seen a good grow with the supernatural 8 oz of 1 plant (tree of life) under a 600 watt mh, spose 8 oz is pretty normal yeild under a 600watt. but 1 plant, sounds good. have a few to plant, giving water most of the time is easyer long as it gives good results
cheers for your help man, appriciated
