Usually, we tie plants to keep them from growing so tall. Make them more of a bush then an elongated stalk. Not use so much of our limited space. If your space is practically unlimited, the choice is yours.

My first grow, and I used the tie down method on my BC plants. I went with fishing line but be cautious and attentive because it can sort of cut into the stalk or rub it off a little. I would use cloth string (like a shoelace). I had just cut holes into my tub and tied down to the tub. I've seen many different household items used as anchors.

Should you tie your plants down? Do you have a lot of space? If so, then maybe not. Its all about grower preference I think.
