$70? Are you effing serious? I've never seen a clone higher than $15 and my friend's complain even $15 is too expensive. Hope it's some rare genetics or something. Anyways, I've transfered plants to a DWC just fine from soil. I tipped the plant over and got it out of the pot and then held it by the stem in one hand and the root ball in the other and swooshed the root/dirt ball in a bowl of water till most of the soil was out and put it in hydroton. Worked fine, although I'm not going to guarantee anything, for $70 I'd be worried.
