Wanna Bet. I'll go with you to a shooting range, you bring your best open sight gun and we'll put a cantalope at 500 yards, 1500 ft., hell I'll even allow a fair sized watermellon. I'll give you 10 shots and bet you a thousand bucks you can't hit it. A 1/4 mile is 1350 ft, have you been to a 1/4 mile drag race lately, add 150 ft onto that distance and try and imagine hitting a watermellon with open sights, NFW. BTW, a target 1/5 the width of the front blade would be real hard to hit. I fired 247 out of a possible 250, the highest score in my batallion with an M-14. a beautiful weapon. That means I got 3 outside the bulls-eye in the 4 ring.
