This is certainly more cost effective and if you got the craftsmenship.. you can adjust it and get the best light.
I found it slightly more expensive..but, buying 5 dollar clip-on and desk lamps, sawing off the lamp-heads half way (so a y-splitter and 2 42watt bulbs can fit).. to be just . . easier. So including that 2 piece wood fixture, i got like 4 floor-type lamps producing 10 lights, but i only got 5 bulbs.
