I guess I should thank you, Zen, it appears that my post was deleted entirely (as were some of yours). I didn't realize that this board belonged to one person and one person only, nor did I realize that I would only be allowed to post what he deems acceptable. If someone doesn't mind helping me out here, I have yet to find where in the user's agreement that it says that I must speak only of certain things in certain places. It probably wouldn't chap my hide if I knew coming in and had agreed, yeah? Also, when my husband and I had our own bulletin board we had some serious disagreements with other moderators over censorship (because, honestly, that's what just happened in the Mr. President thread), and Dave and I are ardent supporters of free speech, whereas others felt that we should limit certain speech.
Onto your assertions Zen; I do not disagree. However, we cannot fire officials, and once they have power they are most usually and often corrupted. What about representatives giving themselves the power to lease vehicles at taxpayer cost with no limits as to what they can use or spend? Pay raises? I want to vote myself a pay raise! The list of grievances I have is long, long indeed, and it knows no party lines whatsoever. |
