I am in TX too. I usually have to water every day. The heat is hard to beat. Try to set up a watering system. I use a big tote painted camo. I just attach a few soaker hoses to the tub and fill it up about twice a week. Just put the hoses coming out of the bottom and run them right by your plant. I have good results this way.
