My system uses the bubbledisk I got with it for aeration but I have heard from some people like Earl that you can use the fish tank air pump as well. The drip system is not needed but I find really helps support the roots of your system in early growth. Like said before, I think bubbleponics is mostly deep water culture with the pumps only being important until the roots reach the resevoir. I actually find the water pumps helps later on just to give the roots at the top just a little bit more water as well, though many of the holes in my pump have clogged and only a few are still shooting water out and I am not keen to take it out and look at it until this grow is done, so I am just depending on my system being Deep Water Culture like I said. For my next grow I would like to re-build this in a bigger tub and get a better water pump with bigger hoses, and also will not use the companies nutrients in future grows. |
