Tetra, believe me, he can get 480 into his house. But he has to employ a licensed electrician to get it. At least legally he does. Listen to Tetra,, step away from the 480 volt ballast.

Save that Ballast though. Someday you might want to run 480 volt to save money and elect. This is one of the reasons, why street lights use 480 volts.
