OK you sholdn't need any nutrients when double budding but there are some tips and tricks as I used to have a good buddy that was a master of it.
At about 55-66 days he chopped the main colas off his intire canopy. he grew SSK, HP, Cali O , Romberry, and a few others. This went to market and the lowers were left to fill out for 10-14 extra days. This can increase the lower yields as much as 30% and provide some bad ass headie golf balls for your head stash without the giant stems that come with the spears.
this works great provided you don't have a 24" crop waiting for the bud space like I do while running a 3 part set up.
If you remove this lower crap anyway beforehand many think the extra energy goes up top and ads to that weight but it's hard to say but many growers swear to it. I remove a huge portion of lowers as clones and later in a second clean up for air under canopy.
Many strains actually mature faster on bottom and the heads never seem to finish I see this more in soil gardens with taller plants though.
Learn your favorite strains make sure you take some stash at different intervals and you will find that perfect harvest window.
