And I was wondering what the best soil for outdoors is (from Home Depot, preferrably)?

I plan on germinating for a few days, then letting them grow on their own in a little cup before I transplant them into the ground.

I'm already going to buy a ph meter and am ready to dig the 2foot hole and start. I already have my location.

Any other tips/suggestions for a newbie?
