....now I know it's not the normal practice to just have one seed when germinating...but a friend gave it to me for free so i figure what the hell...might as well go for it....as it stands I have a descent sized hole (for when I transplant)....the soil i dug was very moist, so I incorperated it with some manure and a decent amount of compost...that's set....now what concerns me is the amount of clay i found in the soil....
I aerated the soil by putting the whole lot through an old window screen....I wondered though, wouldn't the clay add additional nutrients???....if not it's all good. I've read through many post and I figured the overall thought of clay was okay...but if it was
just clay it wouldn't work....
I have a few plastic containers (the ones that you'd find when buying veggie plants).....I hope to transplant the plant when it gets about 6 to 8 inches into the hole (which is 3ft deep)
now I think my biggest hurdle is the weather forecast.....it's calling for rain and plenty of cloudy days for the week.....I do realise that it's norm to start indoors, but I don't have lights...
so should I of held off in germinating until there's sunny days???.....or am I jumping the gun???
I think I have the right idea, but the is my
very first attempt on my own....
any advice guys???, am I on the right track???
Thanks all,
Bud
